Dissolved Air Flotation

DISSOLVED AIR FLOTATION

The dissolved air flotation (DAF) has been proved to be an effective physical/chemical technology for treating a variety of industrial and municipal wastewater streams. The DAF system is designed for the removal of suspended solids, oil and grease, heavy metals, BOD, COD and VOCs. With massive practical experiences in the implementation of DAF system, we can customize and provide you the best solution to optimize the efficiencies according to the specific requirements.

Applications

The DAF system is able to meet various treatment goals in a wide range of industrial and municipal applications include:

-          Product recovery and reuse

-          Preliminary treatment to meet the discharge standard

-          Pretreatment to reduce loading on downstream treatment system

-          Thickening of bio-solids

DAF Process

The DAF process dissolves air into water by injecting air under pressure into a recycle stream which is then mixed with the incoming wastewater in an internal contact chamber. The dissolved air comes out and generates microscopic air bubbles. These fine bubbles are then attached to the particles causing them to float to the surface of the vessel, forming a sludge blanket. A scraping assembly skims the sludge off the surface and pump to dewatering equipment. The treated stream flows from DAF to discharge point or further treatment process.

Key Features

The DAF system has been successfully applied to the following fields:

-          Oil-water separation of wastewater in petrochemical industry and etc.

-          Pretreatment of waste water in the industries of textile, dyeing, bleaching and wool spinning

-          Wastewater treatment in surface treatment industry (e.g. galvanization, PCB, pickling)

-          Pretreatment of wastewater in industries of pharmacy, chemical, papermaking, tannery, food, etc.

-          replacement of sedimentation tank in industrial wastewater pretreatment

Our DAF systems possess the following significant advantages:

-          efficient dissolved air system

-          liquid level controlling with automatically slagging

-          specialized efficient non-clogging releasing system with simple maintenance

-          stable treatment effect, complete automatic control

-          small floor space, high quality of effluent, low capital cost.
